Well, daughter dear has recovered and survived her wisdom tooth extractions and also her dry socket/infection episode. Poor kid. She went through hell with them. Now she is all better and back to her old self. Thank Goddess that is over!
Was just listening to the weather guy on tv and I am happy to hear it could be as high as 60 degrees here this weekend! This is very exciting. I am so ready for winter to be over. I love the winter when it first starts. All the Holidays are here and it’s just generally nice. But after the Holidays are over and it becomes a new year, I am all set. I want the nice weather and the spring flowers to bloom. I get real antsy and depressed in these winter months. It’s awful, I get such bad Seasonal Affective Disorder. I’m kinda getting sick of coming home at night and sitting in front of my “therapy light” for a half hour every night. I need the sun!
This weekend we gotta set the clocks forward. Can we discuss how happy I am gonna be to lose an hours sleep this weekend? First Mother Nature takes away my sunlight for about 5 months – and then she decides to screw with my sleep?
There is something so very wrong with that. I think she and I need to have a little talk…..
My little mousy girl looked like she was sick last week, but she actually seems to be getting better this week. I got her a new cage that is a bit bigger and also has a “second” floor to it. It’s pretty neat. Kinda like she traded up her one room for a two story loft apt… lol.

I think that maybe she might have been suffering from the pine bedding in her cage. Apparently pine bedding is toxic in small little mice. It’s the oil from pine and cedar wood that irritates their little lungs. I never knew this until I found a really neat site on mice and their care. Of course I did not bookmark the link so I can’t post it like I wanted too!
I ordered a new book on Egyptian Witchcraft this weekend. Am very excited to get it. I’m supposed to have it here by Friday. Hope UPS actually is able to deliver it. They must have a new driver because they screwed up my delivery this week whe delivering a package. I was supposed to get a package last Thursday but the kept tring to deliver it when I wasn’t home and they told me they were gonna ship it back to sender and so on…
Finally, I had them deliver it to my work. Can you believe – they got it right and delivered it to my work yestrday! I can only imagine where my next delivery will be going. lol.
So I’m off for now. I gotta go check on my mousy girl and see how she is doing todat. She’s such a cutie! I hope everyone had a fabolus day today!
Spring is in the air!

Wisdom teeth and a dry socket.

Remember my last post when I was talking about my daughter and how she had all 4 of her wisdom teeth removed? Well, after that day – things took a turn for the not – so – good.
She was a bit better on Thursday. Not pain wise but she seemed a tad bit clearer. When she woke up, she was still a tad foggy and she slept most of the day. I felt bad as she could only eat Jello and pudding, popsicles and Ice cream.
She really wasn’t into food at all, but on Friday she did start feeling like her normal self. Then on Saturday, she woke up in terrible pain. I looked up in her paperwork and it said that pain AND swelling would increase 4 – 5 days after her surgery. So, we were not too concerned and she kept taking her Motrin and Percocet.
It still seemed to be pretty bad when Monday rolled around, so she kept doing what the paper said to do. Rinse and brush lightly, no spitting, salt water, etc…
On Wednesday she was to go back for her week check up. When she went there – one half of a small clot had fallen out of her jaw – so she had developed a partial “dry socket.” Because of this, the dentist “packed” the socket with medicated gauze and she had to go back Thursday and Friday to have it repacked.
She also had a small infection that had started so he wanted her to start antibiotics. We got her those, but it turns out that the packing of her socket actually worked and she did not need the antibiotic!
That’s why she started to get increasing pain over the few days. The dry socket and small infection were causing it. That and the fact that she had food stuck in the holes. yuck!
That poor kid. She really went through hell last week. She is back to normal now. Pretty much anyways. She gets a small amount of pain, but she does not have to take anything for it. I’m glad that she did not have anymore clots falling out of her jaw. I can only imagine the pain she would have been in if she lost more. One half was bad enough.
Makes it worse because she has TMJ too. I’m glad the teeth are gone though. They really were giving her a lot of trouble. Maybe this will help with her TMJ …Now that she does not have wisdom teeth trying to poke through all the time?
Only time will tell I guess.
